Casual Disability Support Worker

At Hillebrand Shaw & Co, we do disability support the way it should be real, respectful and led by the person receiving it. We are a values driven NDIS provider supporting people across Maitland, Newcastle and surrounding areas and we are growing our team. 

 

We are looking for compassionate, reliable Casual Disability Support Workers who genuinely care about empowering people with disability to live their lives their way.

About the Role

As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will support NDIS participants in their homes and communities to build independence, confidence and connection. No two days are the same but every day is meaningful.

Your support may include
• Assisting with daily living tasks and routines
• Supporting community access, social activities and appointments
• Building strong, respectful relationships with participants
• Encouraging choice, control and self-determination
• Supporting participants to work toward their personal goals

This role suits someone who is adaptable, warm and comfortable working independently while being part of a supportive team.

About You

You are someone who:
• Genuinely enjoys working with people and building connection
• Takes a person-centred, respectful approach
• Is reliable, flexible and professional
• Communicates clearly and calmly
• Can work independently while aligning with team values

 

Pre-Commencement Requirements

The following must be in place before commencing work
• A current Australian driver’s licence
• Comprehensive car insurance
• Access to a tidy, clean, and roadworthy vehicle
• Willingness and ability to transport participants safely when required
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working With Children Check where applicable
• First Aid and CPR

• Police Check 

Desirable Experience

• Experience in disability, community, mental health or support work
• Experience supporting NDIS participants or people with complex needs
• A strong interest in person-centred, community-based support
