Lexi’s 2025 & Intentions for 2026: Is a COS on the Horizon?

This year was full of unexpected life turns and many career opportunities, with my chosen opportunity being Hillebrand Shaw & Co. This year has shaped my future and the person I am today. Since starting with HS&C in July 2025, I have been welcomed into many homes of families who require day-to-day assistance – and for this I am very grateful. Every support is full of ups and downs but also lots of fun and laughter.
I thank every family and/or client that has allowed me to play such an important role of their lives and welcoming me with open arms. I look forward to the new year with everyone present and future within the company.
People say that I dream big and get my hopes up too high, however, Tomika has granted every dream I had of starting out in the disability sector and assisting young kids and adults to transform their lives for the better.
Working closely with Tomika has allowed me to open a new opportunity and discover the ever-changing world of coordinating supports. This role isn’t easy nor is it pretty but by doing this it means I can further develop my own skills and assist others in a way that will also further develop their life.
I may have only been with the company for less than 6 months, however, 6 months ago I had very little insight into disabilities and now, I know more than I ever have and have fallen in love with my job again. I have learnt so much in such a short time!
In 2026, I aim to better understand the NDIS and how and why advocacy is so important. I hope the new year is full of upskilling, love and positive connections within my career. I have no doubt that Tomika and Corey will both be by my side every step of the way as I embrace and discover the importance of a Support Coordinator.
I strongly believe that 2026 WILL be our best year yet!
